Columbus Day Queen Pageant, sponsored by the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans. Young women of Italian heritage are invited to enter. Date: June 22, 2012; location: Alta Villa Banquet Hall, 430 N. Addison. Eligible contestants must be single/never married, between the ages 18-23 and at least 50% Italian. Music Festival Under the Stars. August 3 at the Casa Italia Festival Center. Enjoy magnificent voices singing pop and opera music. Close your eyes and imagine that you are in Italy as artists perform Neapolitan songs, popular music and arias from Verdi, Rossini and Donizetti. Cash bar 6 p.m., dinner 6:30 p.m. and concert at 7:30 p.m. The evening includes expert commentary by musicologist John Rizzo. Ticket price TBA.

Each year more than 30 of the best Italian-American artists, sculptors and photographers join together to exhibit over 100 new works. Fornelli Hall Golf Open. August 13, 2102 at the Riverside Country Club. The Italian American Veteran's Museum & Library proudly presents the 6th annual Fornelli Hall Open. Italian Fall Festival. October 6 & 7 at the Casa Italia Festival Center. A fun-filled weekend with entertainment, culture and traditions.
